It was fun because I was visiting friends but the city itself was not a big thrill save for the Darwin D. Martin complex. This group of buildings was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright. It was abandonned for many years and is now finally being restored. At first glance it looks like a nice modern house but when you consider that it was built in the Victorian era, it is a testimony to the creator&#8217;s genius and to the owners&#8217; audacity. Visitors are not allowed to take photos so I have none to show but you can check the website:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.darwinmartinhouse.org\/history.php\">http:\/\/www.darwinmartinhouse.org\/history.php<\/a><br \/>\nThe tour is very comprehensive and well worth it.<\/p>\n<p>The other architectural surprise was at city hall. ( I landed there by accident as I was going for a walking tour of the city, which I had seen advertised in brochures and online, but never took place.) The building itself is reminiscent of the Empire Stet building in New York City, same art deco style.
