I entered a church to have a look. It felt like being transported in Rome, a white, bright, airy church, very pleasant, welcoming, appeasing.<br \/>\nMy eye was attracted to the bright fresco on the ceiling, the usual grouping of saints and apostles\u2026.but with one intruder\u2026a man on horseback\u2026<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-144.png\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2392\" src=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-144.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"281\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-144.png 400w, https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-144-300x211.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-143.png\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-2391\" src=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-143.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"303\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-143.png 399w, https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/11\/image-143-300x228.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Amid all the allegory stands a proud Mussolini! It seems that when the church was built and the fresco painted, in the early 1900s, Mussolini was a hero to many Italians. Later on, after the war, his image was shielded to hide it from view.
