{"id":2407,"date":"2004-02-28T12:56:24","date_gmt":"2004-02-28T17:56:24","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/?p=2407"},"modified":"2018-11-26T13:02:27","modified_gmt":"2018-11-26T18:02:27","slug":"butterflies-go-free","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/?p=2407","title":{"rendered":"Butterflies go free"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Today I went to the botanical garden to see the \u201cButterflies go free\u201d exhibition.<br \/>\nThe star of the show this year is the blue Morphos, This butterfly is brown with exuberant markings on the outside but when it opens its wings a beautiful blue appears. The sparkling blue wings are caused by the way the light reacts with their scales. They are kept at the insectarium until they emerge and then they are transported to the exhibition greenhouse. There were some cocoons that still contained their chrysalid and we could see them move when sprayed with water. The \u201cCobra\u201d which is one of the few nocturnal butterflies in the exhibition does not eat. Man has not invented much in terms of colors or patterns.
