There were experiences that I did not mention such as the narghile, (water pipe),\u00a0<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-798.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"4591\" class=\"wp-image-4591\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-798.png 500w, https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-798-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">and the hammam (which I wrote about in my blog), the belly dancers (which we did see),<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-2 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"298\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-799.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"4592\" class=\"wp-image-4592\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-799.png 298w, https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-799-179x300.png 179w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 298px) 100vw, 298px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I have not mentioned the food, which was varied and flavorful (the desserts dripping with honey were my favorite part of every meal), the apple tea served in glasses, the Raki (an anise tasting alcoholic drink) known as the Lion&#8217;s milk,<br>Most meals started with &#8220;Meze&#8221;, a variety of hors d&#8217;oeuvres such as salad, garlic sauce, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, cold cuts, fried vegetables, pastries, fish, yogurt, feta cheese&#8230;<br>Traditionally, even if Raki can be consumed as a cocktail, it is the preferred drink with Mezes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-3 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"375\" height=\"500\" src=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-800.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"4593\" class=\"wp-image-4593\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-800.png 375w, https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-800-225x300.png 225w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 375px) 100vw, 375px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But what truly enchanted me was the the arab culture: listening to the muesins calling for prayer, the beautiful calligraphy inside the mosques, the walking barefoot on carpets, the fountains, the tiles&#8230;\u00a0<br>I forgot to describe the carpets, made of silk, cotton or wool, always double knotted to make them truly turkish&#8230;the traditional patterns of each region&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery columns-1 is-cropped wp-block-gallery-4 is-layout-flex wp-block-gallery-is-layout-flex\"><ul class=\"blocks-gallery-grid\"><li class=\"blocks-gallery-item\"><figure><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" src=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-801.png\" alt=\"\" data-id=\"4594\" class=\"wp-image-4594\" srcset=\"https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-801.png 500w, https:\/\/flyingplates.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/01\/image-801-300x225.png 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px\" \/><\/figure><\/li><\/ul><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">To me it truly is the land of a thousand and one nights&#8230;. or should it be a thousand and one delights&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This concludes my description of the sites we visited.
