Today I had to let go that brave little car. It should have been called Proud Mary as it still purred like a kitten after all those years…and all that rust…
I was never a car person. All I ever asked of a car was that it have a good heater and take me where I’m going. Yet I just loved this old Jeep YJ. We went through a lot together and it never let me down. There was not a snow bank too high or a puddle too deep for us.
The man I sold it to was very sweet and offered to send me a picture of her once he will have spruced her up, like people do when they adopt a puppy.
Another page turned…
Another key requirement was that it be high off the road… Don’t forget that one.
Thanks for taking good care of the Jeep for all those years!
Odd that you kept this ond “Jeep” for so long! There is a coincdence again here. Two sons of my partner, Phyllis, each have Red Willy’s jeeps like this. One is recently restored and in use hunting elk in Oregon. The other son keeps the dilapidated but preserved car next to the barn he lives in.
You surely stay with history and possessions, creativity such as this website, and I’m proud to be your friend, tho so far apart, you in Montreal, me in California.
Peace, Clint
