Return to nature

The deed is done, I have emptied the house and signed it away. As I did a final walk-through, my coat pocket got caught in a drawer pull in the kitchen. It felt as if the house was trying to hold me back. The sun was streaming through the windows and it looked as nice and welcoming empty as it had when it was filled with furniture, art, plants  and the smell of good food. But it was time to move on…

On  to 2.0 as the kids call this new version of my life. It will be a return to nature for a while, as I will be living in the cabin until my new house is ready. I may grow my own food, spin my pig’s wool and weave my chicken’s feathers…there are no limits to what I can do during my stay up north….IF the snow ever melts… But first I must scrape through five years of neglect and as many inches of grime and mice droppings…there will be no photos of that part…

  1. I know moving has been a big upheaval for you but at least you’ve now done the hard part. And no-one else I know, myself included, who’ve had to find temporary lodging whilst moving house have had such a wonderful place, mice and all!

  2. Eve, I hand it to you for carrying your projects through. I’m partly thinking about the past, the way you went into travel and became the best travel agent in the world. Or the way you raised three wonderful kids who love and appreciate their Mom. Now, its this move from the house of a long marriaige and family into a space designed for this next phase of your life.

I feel proud to be a friend, and to vicariosly enjoy sharing all that you put here on this website.

    Peace, Clint
