Doggie cake/J 2021

This was a pretty straight forward cake. Made three layers of chocolate cake. Cut and stacked them with butter cream for the body, and a smaller shape for the head. Then shaped four little paws, two ears and a tail. I carved out the head and attached it to the body with butter cream. The eyes and nose and tongue and bow are made out of fondant and almond paste. The challenge is making the icing look like fur. I used a potato ricer and a specialty tip on my pastry bag. It is a long and slow process. It is important for the icing to be very smooth so it does not clog the holes.
