This is one of my oldest recipes (it came from m y mother I think), it is easy and fast yet impressive!
2 cans asparagus soup
2 cups chicken (or vegetable) broth
1 cup 10% cream
¼ cup Sherry
¼ cup toasted slivered almonds
white pepper to taste

In a saucepan mix the asparagus soup , the broth and the cream.
Heat.
Add the Sherry.
Pour in soup bowls and add a lemon slice and sprinkle some toasted almonds.
Voilà!
