Based on a novel by John LeCarré, this is a story about how pharmaceutical companies endanger people’s lives to make money. But the film is a lot more than that. It is a journey through Africa, it is a love story, it is a police thriller, it is a political plea, it is a story about friendship, trust, commitment, respect, and betrayal. The photography alone is worthy of an Oscar. The actors are spectacular. I loved this film and let myself be transported into this foreign world… It is a rather long film but I hardly noticed it so taken was I by the magic. I recommend it.
