It is strange that, like a lot of Quebecers, I saw Florida as a place for blue haired people and the epitome of artificiality (if such a word exists)…yet the more time I spend here the more I appreciate the natural wonders, the southern hospitality, the attractions and the weather … of course…
I look forward to visiting other southern States…the Carolinas perhaps…
I am still troubled by the racial tensions in the US and even more so by my own changes of attitude towards them…I used to think in a simplistic manner that as long as the whites welcomed the blacks and offerred them equal opportunities everything would be peachy…this is obviously not enough….and it is frightening to see that the gap between the two groups is widening…
One thing I am unbending about though, is the attitude towards firearms…nothing anyone can say or do will ever make me change my mind. Guns kill people…that is their only use…so it stands to reason that if everyone has access to them…this is what some people will use them for…
