Living in the country, I have few excuses to miss out on all the nature activities available around me. So today I went on a walk in Doncaster River Park. Not a city park by a long shot, but rather a nature interpretation center, meaning that you are in the woods but there are paths already traced that you can follow. In this case we followed the river, which was swollen from all the melting snow. It was noisy, frothy, it smelled of a mix of evergreens: pine, cedar and fir trees…
Here and there the water got caught and was calm enough to reflect the trees around…
Buds were bursting, leaves were opening and even these tiny fuzzy fiddle heads were unfolding…
Nature works in mysterious ways…but nothing was more mysterious to us today than this sign at the entrance of the park….from what we could make of it, you cannot run around naked without your head on…. But what if you DO have your head on???
