I want to wish a Happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there. To the new fathers who are just discovering the joys and challenges of fatherhood. To the experienced fathers, the grandfathers, the step fathers, the fathers in law. To the men who are separated from their children for any reason but will always remain fathers. And to those men who have played the role of father with younger siblings or non-related youngsters. They may not all be called dad, but they all deserve our thanks and admiration just as much, if not more so.
I know some peole will say, this is too commercial, we don’t need a day, we can tell our father we love him all year round. But look at it as a reminder, the one day you are sure not to forget.
My own father is no longer with us, nor is my children’s father, so there will be no special meal to prepare or gift to wrap… only memories… Don’t wait. Hug a dad today!
