Paul Simon

The jazz fest is on. Paul Simon is one of the star guests. As I could not afford to go see him perform I, at least,  attended the big tribute to him that was held last night outside on the main stage. There were thousands of people there even with the threat of a thunder storm. Many big names performed his tunes. The show started with Leonard Cohen reading the words of  “Sounds of Silence”, it was odly moving… Later,  Elvis Costello , Daniel Lanois, Jamie Cullum, Sam Roberts, Zachary Richard,  Michel Rivard , Ariane Moffat and many more sang and played Simon tunes. I was amazed to discover he is the man behind so many songs I know and love….Hazy shade of winter, Mrs Robinson, Bridge over troubled water, Me and Julio down by the school yard, Peace like a river…
