Talk of photo opportunities! I took hundreds and am having a hard time choosing which ones to put up. This is an outdoor exhibit of gardens. Each garden was conceived by a designer and has a concept, a theme and all sorts of explanations attached to every detail. I read most of them as I went along but, for expediency’s sake, I will only insert a few comments here and there.
This first one stood out from far…to me it was humorous but not unpleasant to look at. The second one was set on beds of crushed glass, the coloured circles were created by the sun streaming through coloured disks. Above the central pound were leaf shaped structures that serve to collect dew and drip it back into the pond.
The green spheres were bouncy, kids had fun with them. The next one reminded me of a greek island. The glass floor covered a river…very summery…
The one on the left had water running overhead, you could see it though a glass roof, before it cascaded down. The garden on the right…well…
The garden on the left is a reflection on urban life how people and nature are intertwined…it removes a few walls… the one on the right was more subdued but was the largest and pleasant to walk through
My favorite garden is this one. I liked the water features, the sculptures, the playfulness, the plants, the glass spheres…
The next two have a very 70s feel to them…
And this last one…baffled me. The trees were on rocking chairs and bent down as we walked by…
