When I last visited Nairobi, I was very impressed with the Sheldrick elephant orphanage.
Since then, I got to learn more about them by seeing an Imax film called: “Born to be wild”

I had felt frustrated that our time with the elephants was so short on that first visit, but I have since found out that if you foster an orphan, you get to spend extra time with them… Guess who adopted an elephant???
His name is Mumbushi, he is not even 4 months old yet, and had a nasty machete gash across his forehead but has been making great progress since his rescue 2 months ago. If you want to learn more about him check this out:

I am hoping to get to see him when I next visit the orphanage.
