Cut and stacked them with butter cream for the body, and a smaller shape for the head. Then shaped four little paws, two ears and a tail. I carved out the head and attached it to the body with butter cream. The eyes and nose and tongue and bow are made out of fondant and almond paste. The challenge is making the icing look like fur. I used a potato ricer and a specialty tip on my pastry bag. It is a long and slow process. They are soo scrumptious yet easy to make, there is no reason to deprive yourself.
The number of cookies depends on their size. The smaller the spoonfuls of dough the more cookies will result, and the flatter they will be (this is a matter of personal preference)
